my ink

lot’s of people have been asking me to see more of my ink… here’s some of it (i’m missing photo’s of my shoulder… i should work on that):

right forarm.  don’t ask me what it is… i never tell anyone

right ankle; my only generic tribal thing (everyone’s gotta have one right?) – it does feature the kate bush symbol in it tho – so that makes it more “me”

left calf featuring dragon, tiger, crane, bamboo, water & a symbol from the i ching.

question

at what point do you forget you have ink?

i barely notice my my other tat’s, but i’m hyper aware of the sleeve…. i wonder how long till it just organically becomes part of me and i forget it’s there?

if it’s friday, it must mean new ink…

yup….once more into the ink bucket.  we’re comin’ down to the wire and trevor is putting all the “connective bits” together linking everything together.  today was cloud/flower work behind the vajra (the symbol below) and above the eight auspicious symbols as well as the flower/wind wall on the front of my forearm.

this section of the body is very tender and quite sensitive.   in other words, my arm feels like chop liver right now, but it’s so worth it.

i know it’s hard to see in these pics, i’ll try and get cb to take some close up of some of the work as it’s really quite beautiful.

the sleeve – in progress

to start the ball rolling – here we have my phase one of my sleeve.  in progress. 

truth be told it’s been in progress a very long time.  since the fall of 2005 when we started the eight auspicious symbols.  the entire arm is full of buddhist (with a hint of zen) imagery, starting with the symbols.  as we continue down the tattoo path, you’ll find more buddhist images such as lotus flowers, cherry blossoms and tibetan prayer flags.  add in there a vajra and a zen circle and it’s a pretty damn amazing tattoo.  we’ll be done with it by the end of the year.

this is probably my favorite picture of any of my tattoos – for starters, i just love the lighting, how it’s hitting trevor’s hand… and then there are the golden fish… i love, love, love how the fish turned out.
